Eave Vents

The overhang that cools the attic is also the one embers reach first.

Eave vents feed outside air into the attic space beneath the roof. That circulation matters most in the evening, when heat stored in the attic insulation all day needs somewhere to go — moving it out quickly is what keeps cooling costs down.

The eave — the underside of the roof that overhangs the exterior wall — usually sits directly above landscaping, shrubs, and other combustible material. That overhang, paired with an open vent, is exactly where wind-blown embers tend to collect during a wildfire.

Roofline Protection

Built to Resist Ignition at the Roofline

V2 Vents’ eave vents are noncombustible and corrosion-resistant, with an ember-catching wire mesh screen and an intumescent coating that self-closes at high temperature when wildfire is nearby.

Skipping airflow-restricting baffles also means more net free area per square inch of vent.

Quality Manufacturing

What’s Built Into Every V2 Vent

V2 Matrix Intumescent Technology

Reacts at critical temperatures to defense against heat and flames

Exceptional Airflow

Our Net-Free-Vent-Area (NFVA) specifications are verified by accredited 3rd parties for airflow performance you can trust!

Code-Aware Design

Built to align with Wildland Urban Interface code in California’s Chapter 5 (Chapter 7A) -> CWUI and beyond -> IWUI etc.

Independently Tested

Evaluated to ASTM E2886 and ASTM2912 for resistance to ember entry and direct flame impingement in both, horizontal and vertical directions.

Critical Step

Sealing the Install with EverKem

  • Use EverKem 814+ intumescent fire caulking on every V2 Vents installation. Round eave vents use EverKem 136 mortar-based caulking instead, where mounting hardware isn’t practical and flanges run minimal.
  • Installation: Run a bead of EverKem behind the nailing flange before setting the vent — this keeps the seam between vent and building material airtight, closing off any gap embers could use to get in.

Flange Types & Kits

Protection built for both framing types.

V2 Vents makes ember-resistant venting for both truss and rafter framing:

  • Tabbed (winged) eave vents for trusses and rafters
  • Reverse-tabbed eave vents for new construction
  • Round eave vents (bird-hole style), mini-louvered version
  • Round eave vents (bird-hole style), mesh-face version

Available for new construction and as retrofit kits over existing openings.
