Retrofits
Every existing vent can be upgraded — not just replaced.
A V2 Vents retrofit kit adds ember-catching mesh and intumescent-coated V2 Matrix protection to a vent opening that’s already in place, without requiring a full vent swap.
Retrofit Kits
Upgrading What’s Already There
Retrofit kits come in a range of dimensions, with custom sizing available. The current lineup covers:
- Retrofit Louvered Vent/Eave Vent: Exterior
- Retrofit Half Round Dormers
- Retrofit Louvered Vent: Interior
- Continuous Vent Retrofits
- Soffit Vent/Ridge Vent Retrofits
- Retrofit Half Round Dormers
- Eave
- Sub Flashing *
* The Sub Flashing can be used in conjunction with any other manufacturers’ dormer or roof vent and turn it into an ember and fire-safe vent

Why Retrofit at All
Every vent on a home — from the roofline down to the crawlspace — has to keep air moving and keep embers out at the same time. V2 Vents retrofit kits let an existing opening do both, without a full vent replacement.

Improved Ventilation
No Baffles, More Airflow Per Square Inch
Ember- and fire-resistant vents are required under California’s Chapter 7A / CWUIC Chapter 5 Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI) code in high-risk fire zones — retrofit kits bring existing openings up to that same standard.
Critical Step
Sealing the Install with EverKem
- Use EverKem 814+ intumescent fire caulking on every V2 Vents installation. Round eave vents use EverKem 136 mortar-based caulking instead, where mounting hardware isn’t practical and flanges run minimal.
- Installation: Run a bead of EverKem behind the nailing flange before setting the vent — this keeps the seam between vent and building material airtight, closing off any gap embers could use to get in.
